Pre-MSA FOC 2007

After one whole week of preparation, trials and errors, endless meetings and sleepless hours… tomorrow is the day when the freshies will start swarming into NTU. This year's freshies are expected to total up to more than 200 people; an increase of more than 50 people compared to the previous year.

We've been through senior camp where we tested all our games, the timings and the feasibility of each activity. As usual, much changes are needed after each day has ended and my dear ACP (Assistant Chief Programmer) has to stress herself out trying to make everything perfect for the freshies. As for me, being a senior whose been thru 4 FOCs altogether… I think I'm pretty much well experienced with all these stuffs… But this is my first time being a programmer and I tell you, it sure is taxing… We have to organize enjoyable games for them and we don't get to play them! If everything goes wrong, the blame goes all to us.. That's why, I've created a cheer for us programmers… =)

It goes like this (with the scouts/army kind of melody)

Who are the brains behind all these games?
Who give out ideas without shame.
When things go wrong, who are to blame?
Programmer x2 that's our name.
We never give up and we never rest,
Programmers x2, we are the best!

It's like telling the whole story of the life of a programmer…

But despite all these, as a subcommer, we sure enjoyed ourselves during senior camp. But I must admit that being a GL is way more enjoyable (as far as senior camp is concerned). Not too sure bout the actual camp though…

Will try to post some pictures later on for senior camp.. or if you're impatient enough, can always look at pictures from here

Garden of Eden

When it comes to holidays, different people have different ideas in spending it...

Some would like to spend it traveling the world; to islands and beaches, mountains and meadows, exotic towns and crammed up cities...

Some would like to spend time with their loved ones; spouses, families, childhood friends, long lost friends, friends you never knew you had...

Some would like to just stay at home; watch tv, sleep, eat and do whatever people do at home...

After thinking bout it, I think my 5 weeks of holidays was quite fruitful... Did all 3 of those...
And now, I'm happily rotting at home... do whatever things that I like... No worries, no pain, no Nothing!

I'm not worried bout studies, or work, or money... Where in the world can a working person experience this!! It's like an experience of a lifetime...
Being loved by your parents, having a place to stay, food served to you when it's lunch/dinner time... No wars, No famine, No disease outspread... I even have broadband wireless! What's paradise if this is not it?

Too bad, there's only 2 more days left for me to enjoy it... After that, it'll be back to busy and hectic life in Singapore... But until then, there is no place like home.

Sharing Session v3

It has been a "tradition" for Yvonne and I to have a sharing session every time we're back in Ipoh during our yearly semester holidays. This would be our 3rd sharing session; our 1st one was with Fong Yeen and our 2nd one was in sinn yi's house together with her humping shih tzu... The sharing session involve computers (desktop or laptop) and external hard disks. DVDs are optional. We share everything under the sun: movies, tv series, short clips, pictures, songs... anything you name.

Since Delicia created a blog of her own ( and, I can't help but to archive my own version of our traditional event.

Me, Yvonne, Sheik Yan and Delicia had our lunch at a place at dai shue kiok (Big Tree's Leg) in which I indigenously suggested. Yvonne wanted to eat authentic Ipoh food and since most of them haven't been there before, decided to have a nice place to eat 'chau liu' (fried lauk)

Delicia had a nice camera phone with her and she only took pictures AFTER we finished our food...

That's Von, wiping her hands...

Not only that, she didn't even take picture of the nicely done egg custard after she took the previous pictures...

Anyhow, we went to Greentown to collect shake's laptop and proceeded to shake's house for our session. Our venue this time is somewhat cosier. It was in an air-conditioned room with 2 single sized beds, an attached toilet and marble floor. The space was just enough for 3 people to look at the computer at any one time.

And an idle person would be...

Playing with handphone

Hiding in a playhouse

At first, there was this empty space in front of us. After a while, we realized that we don't have a table to work on.

The gathering place

Therefore, we improvised and shifted to a new location

Oh well, all in all, it was a fun and exciting moment looking at pictures 2 years ago (which seemed like a few days ago), looking at lame and funny videos.

We even took everyone's picture for memory's sake.. We were writing history of our lives in the process
