Think weekends and public holidays are good? Not if you're sick!
I think sick people can die during sundays and public holidays.
All clinics and medical centres won't be open. Probably the only ones available are family clinics and general hospitals.
Heck, even the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Instutions and Services are closed.
This is the 2nd time I got red eye over the weekend/public holiday. The first time, I went without medication over the weekend and the condition got from bad to worse.
This time, slightly smarter, I went to Guardian to purchase some antiseptic eye drops.
Singapore is a horrible place to be when you're sick. Medication and consultations are super expensive.

When I was taking the image processing module in my last semester, I learnt that our eyes are actually low pass filters. What this means is that from a far distance, we won't be noticing strong "edges" (e.g. pimples) from a person's face and we'll see people's face as clear and smooth
To put this to experiment, consider this 'optical illusion' I found on the web
When you look at this picture in a closer look you see Albert Einstein.
But, if you stand 5 meters (about 16 feet) distance. It will become Marilyn Monroe ...
So, what happens is, our eyes removes all the 'edges' in the picture; removing the wrinkles, certain parts of the hair, etc. Ah, I may not make any sense but what the heck! Just enjoy the illusion.

It's about half a week now after my last paper and it seems like it's been ages ago since I finished my examinations. Albeit a short period of time, there's been a considerable amount of stuff that happened (compared to when I was preparing for my papers)
The night after my last paper itself, I went to dine at a fancy French restaurant at Bistro Petit Salut as a post celebration for elaynne's birthday.
It's quite a posh place with a romantic ambience and the food is pretty good there too! We ordered a 3-course set dinner there at $38++ and it consists of an appertizer, main course and dessert. The appetizer is not some fancy soup but a 'real' appetizer.
I ordered the Beef tartare served with mesclun and Parmesan crisp for my appetizer
Grilled Sirloin Steak (Medium Rare) for my main course
and Homemade cheesecake served with sorbet as my dessert
Other type of servings that we ordered can be found here
The following day, I went for x'mas shopping with my gf in City Square, JB. Only manage to buy a few gifts there... With the strength of the SGD (at the moment), it's pretty fun to shop in M'sia. hahah.. everything's much cheaper...
In the evening, I met up with wai seng they all at Plaza Singapura for idinner. We ate at Carl's Jr. Then, we headed to Orchard to see the x'mas decorations but it's pretty disappointing this year. Not much things that are worth taking note of.
The Christmas lightings along Orchard Road
Christmas Tree made from Coke Bottles
Light ups outside Shopping Malls
and a Candy Land..
Apart from that, spent two nights playing Card Games; Bang! and Munchkins... Played till pinples spawn like nobody's business on my face... =/
Oh, and yee weng treated us (me, boon jin, jit-vern and ian) Botak Jones! He told us to order anything we want! I ordered the U-Crazy-What burger! lol.. the Triple Patty Botak Jones burger! Lol.. It's damn filling... Was stuffed after that burger, a chicken wing and a portion of their sausages.
There's also the caroling part... It's damn tiring.. Burned two whole days to learn 10 songs for our performance tomorrow at Takashimaya, inside Bulgari. hahah.. I still can't find shirts to wear. Supposed to be wearing all black.. =/
I guess that's about it so far... Haven't started my FYP yet (the reason why I stayed back in SG). Probably will do it after my caroling performance tomorrow.

I just found out that coffee actually helps us shit!!
I tried googling more information about it but couldn't find any concrete scientific reasons behind it.. But there's lots of questions from all over the world asking why coffee makes you shit.
After surfing more on the web.. I realized that coffee ain't so bad after all.. It may even help prolong life!! =/
Harvard School of Public Health researchers looked at coffee drinking and the risk of dying from heart disease, cancer or any other cause. They found that people who drank more coffee were less likely to die during 18 years of follow-up in men, and 24 years of follow-up in women.and another article states that
from Coffee not a killer - and may protect women: study
Coffee drinking may lower your risk of colon cancer by up to 25 percent because of its ability to help keep you regular. But whatever it is, it all say that we shouldn't drink coffee excessively but 2-4 cups a day won't be detrimental to our health.
Two observational studies found that regular coffee intake reduced the risk of developing kidney stones.
People with asthma who drink coffee can have up to 25 percent fewer symptoms because one of the compounds in coffee - theophylline - acts as a bronchodilator.
